Mika’s “For The Rite of Spring” Tour 2022

In 2022, Mika embarked on the “For The Rite of Spring” tour, a unique and colorful musical journey that began in North America in March and April of that year. The tour was marked by a flowery theme, which continued the vibrant ambiance set during Mika’s performance at Eurovision. The visual and thematic elements of the tour, such as special outfits and show elements like the cape dance, reinforced the spring theme throughout the tour.

The North American leg of the tour started with planned performances in various cities, each being promoted with a specific flower representing that city to align with the theme of spring. However, the start of the tour faced a hiccup as the Boston gig was unexpectedly cancelled just hours before it was scheduled due to illness. Fortunately, the rest of the tour dates were rescheduled. The tour included special performances at the Coachella Festival in Indio, which were highlighted by a combination of joy, positivity, and beautiful colors, making them a significant highlight of Mika’s career.

The shows in North America were full of surprises, with a setlist that included two new songs, “Yo-Yo” and “Modern Times”, and other special additions. The structure of the show narrated a story through unique outfits designed by Mira Mikati, reflecting themes of vulnerability, healing, and rebirth.

After the North American leg, the tour continued through June, July, August, and September with numerous festival appearances and events across Europe. This included performances at major events like the Disney pride event in Paris Disneyland. The tour ended with a memorable performance at the Arena di Verona in Italy, marking a fitting conclusion to a tour that left many cherished concert memories.
